It can be hard to find a great book. Only you really know what you like. Until you read the book, it's almost impossible to tell which books are just hyped-up, and which are worthy of critic's praise.
Since I am an avid reader, and recommend books for a living, I decided to provide a few suggestions for books I feel are worth your time. This list includes books that have made me laugh, cry, think about life, inspired me, and stuck with me long after I finished reading them.
*note: while compiling this list, many of the books were children's or young adult novels. I will post a separate list of these later this week. This list includes some younger novels, but I include them because I feel they speak to a wide range of ages. These are in no particular order.
1984 by George Orwell
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
First French Kiss (and other traumas) by Adam Bagdasarian
The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis
